Hello

I know this community isn't particularly active but I thought I'd drop in anyway ;)

Our Loki appeared in my life a few months ago now, and these last few weeks he has certainly been very... present in my life. I'm really enjoying it, too ;) His love is really rather extraordinary!

Do any of you also have a relationship with his wife Sigyn? There's not much about her in the lore, and I was wondering what your UPGs of her were like.

Blessings!

Hola, hello and all that good s***e!!!

I just joined and would like to say...well, hi!!! My name is Salom3 Kloftac. I have studied astrology for quite some time and are slowly working on a book on the arts as well as a fictious book about Cat Folk. Oh, first and foremost, I love Loki...

Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok

ADVFilms has an official download available via bit torrent (downloading peer to peer software) for the Japanese animated series (aka anime) "Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok." (I believe it's all of episode 1 in it's entirety). There's certainly some creative license with the Aesir & Vanir, but I still think that the series is fun, and especially for heathens with kids, it's a chance to have them watch an animated series that features Thor, Heimdall, The Norns, Freya, etc.

I figured there might be some folks interested:

The first DVD is already out, and the second one comes out mid-December. There are 26 episodes in total to the series.

The graphic novels (or manga) are coming out as well. But if you choose to go after these, please keep in mind that the comic series in Japan switched publishers mid-way through, so the American release of the graphic novels picks up mid-way through the series for those later parts of the story printed by the other publisher. In other words, it starts up in the middle of the story.

Premise: Loki, has been exiled to Midgard by Odin, and forced to take the form of a child (as it limits his power). In order to regain access to Asgard, he must collect evil auras that overwhelm human hearts. To facilitate this task he runs a detective agency, thinking that mysteries will come his way as these evil auras will no doubt spread unusual occurences in their wake and presence. But even as he does this task, there are dark undercurrents pointing to sinister things looming on the horizon.

The series is rather cute, and despite being a mystery with supernatural overtones, the series is an action-packed show with comedic elements. I'd rate it around the PG range (at least the original, I'm not sure if they took liberties with the English translation and subsequent dubbing). Age-wise I'd say the show is probably best with older children on up. :)

story time!

Crazy-funny-dumb-weird Loki stories; c'mon, you know you have one.

Here's one of my favorites:

My younger sister and I went to see Harry Potter PoA just a couple weeks after it's theater release; we went to one of those cool AMC theaters with the nice chairs and stadium seating. Even at the late show the place was packed. Loki often tags along when I go to the movies and sometimes we've just gone together. Though some movies he likes, I think he mostly just likes the whole experience with the people and sticky floors n such. Anyway.

Like I said, the place was packed. My sister and I waited in line and managed to find some empty seats up near the back and, luck of luck, the seat to my right was also empty; for whatever reason Loki likes to sit on my right, so he just hopped over and I felt him sit down.

The theater kept filling up and people kept shuffling around to make room. As the previews started, I looked down through the rows of seats and didn't see a single one empty. Behind me the seats were also full. I think the only "empty" seat was the one next to me.

He loved the movie and got very excited about the flying scene.

What about your story? Tell!

online shrines

There used to be an oracula shrine to Loki, but it died when no candles were placed for a length of time. So I took it upon myself to create a new one for My Boy and one for Hel, also, since she's recently made herself known in my life. Each had quite a bit of input into their own shrine: Loki liked the swirly bits and didn't want a background, Hel really liked those little horse thingies; I just uploaded the files and tweaked everything.

Enjoy.

Hihi, *huggles Sarit* I found this little spot of yours, and thought I'd join up too. After all, you know my position, and it's pretty close to your own, or seems so anyway ^_~

Greetings to all of you out there who don't know me yet, I'm a Canadian Wiccan with leanings toward Norse gods as well, particularaly Loki, Hel and Freya. I've been confirmed in my faith for nine years, and testing things out as a witch and pagan for seventeen.

I also belong in part to Loki, so I thought this would be a good place for me to hang out, and hopefully we can get a real community going here!

Greetings all!

Welcome All!

Welcome to my humble little community, devoted to Loki! I'm actually rather surprised anyone found this community, as its been here for quite a few months with no members. Thank you all for joining!! :D

Truthfully, I rather forgot I had this community. I'm glad you're here and posting! Anyway, to get to why I created this community.

Originally it had been created as a way for me to meet others interested in the Norse mythology. I've never been the religious sort, not really. Then again, all I'd ever known was Christianity growing up. Only later on in life did I find other types of religion. I've always been fascinated with these other religions, including Wiccan.

Not to say that I'm either a Lokean or a Wiccan...I think I'm too new and still unsure of what I want. Anyway, this community is more of a way for people to explore what they are, what they believe in or what they want to believe in. Of course, I had to pick Loki because he absolutely fascinates me. He always has, really. He's always seemed to me to be the type of deity that is misunderstood.

I could never understand how his character could change so drastically within the mythos. At one point he is this figure that isn't even close to evil, but very mischievous. Towards the end, of course, he seems to turn extremely evil. The Christianization of the Norse mythology has always rather irked me.

Why must there be an absolutely evil being among the mythos? I don't suppose I shall ever understand that. Ah well.

Well, welcome to community! I look forward to talking to all of you, discussing all things Loki ;)
